About OEWorldwide Offices

Philippines Singapore Malaysia Hong Kong China

In view of the increasing importance of internationalization, starting in 1993 OE established overseas subsidiaries in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines. In 2006 OE entered the Chinese market with sales offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou.

Philippines

OE Philippines (OEPP) was established in 2003 after the company purchased a local subsidiary from Elan Pharma, an Irish pharmaceutical company. The largest subsidiary in terms of sales revenue, OEPP focuses on marketing prescription medicines of a wide range of therapeutic classes, many of which are new to the market. OEPP products include anti-hypertensives, anti-anginals, anti-infectives and medicines for the treatment of respiratory disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and allergic rhinitis. OEPP products also include anti-platelet agents, as well as drugs for the treatment of diabetes and peptic ulcer.

OEPP aims to provide affordable, effective drugs to meet the medical needs of the market. To this end, OEPP actively works to expand its product pipelines and search for business partners to provide high quality products.

The subsidiary currently ranks at No. 24 among all pharmaceutical companies in the Philippines and is one of the fastest-growing companies in the market.

Singapore

Established in 1993, OE Singapore’s (OES) main products include oncology drugs Navelbine Injection and Navelbine Oral for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancers and metastatic breast cancers, Karihome goat milk formula, Zindaclin anti-acne medicine, and female hygiene products. As of the fourth quarter of 2007, sales of the Karihome series was transferred to a local sales company.

Aside from expanding sales channels and product lines for the Karihome series, OES will cooperate closely with OE’s business development division to search and introduce new product lines of drugs for the treatment of cancer and chronic diseases.

Hong Kong

OE extended its representation to Hong Kong in 2001 with the introduction of Navelbine Injection. The compound has been recognized as a cost-effective regimen in non-small cell lung cancers and metastatic breast cancers. The oral formulation of this compound, Navelbine Oral, was approved by Hong Kong’s health authorities and marketed in March 2008. The increased convenience and decreased side effects of this oral formulation will gradually replace its injectable version – a welcome development for both caregivers and patients.

OE Hong Kong (OEH) also started marketing the complete range of Karihome nutritional care products in 2004. Intense promotional activities have strengthened the Karihome brand image and consumer confidence in the products. Karihome has been recognized as the market leader in goat milk formulas in the market.

In 2006, the subsidiary continued to expand its business into pharmaceutical sectors. OE’s anti-depressant product Ixel has a superior efficacy and safety profile compared with its competitors in the market and aims to become one of the top five anti-depressant products in Hong Kong. Other products include Zindacline Gel for acne and Permixon for BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) which also continue to gain share in the market.

OEH in the second half of 2009 will introduce drugs for diabetes and oral hygiene health to improve patients’ quality of life and establish OEH’s expertise in the market. The company will also launch more OTC products to further extend its market share in other therapeutic areas.
