Yun Lin New Plant
In 2008, Orient Pharma invested NT$1.2 billion in a new plant located in Yunlin County’s Huwei Township. The Huwei plant takes up a total area of 15,200 square meters and the main building is comprised of three stories. The new plant is designed to conform to the standards set forth by the U.S. FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration), and will apply for product certification from the U.S. FDA, European PIC/S (Pharmaceutical Inspection Convention and Pharmaceutical Inspection Cooperation Scheme) and Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) in Japan. The plant is conveniently located at about an hour and half from Taipei via the high speed rail. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Dec. 7, 2008 and construction is completed in 2010. The plant has been inspected by the Taiwan FDA (TFDA) in 2011 and has obtained the PIC/S GMP Certificate from the TFDA. The plant has started producing its own R&D drugs for bioavailability, bioequivalence and clinical trials..
The company offers a wide array of generic drugs manufacturing capabilities, including special generic drugs such as controlled-release, and internationally patented new dosage forms, new combinations and new indications drugs.
In order to meet the demand for large-scale production while lowing production costs and increasing competitiveness, Orient Pharma imported brand name manufacturing equipment, including high-sheer mixers, granulators, fluid bed dryers, film coating machines, and tablet compressing machines for the production of new drug dosage forms or new combination drugs.
In order to ensure product quality and compliance with the U.S., European, and Japanese pharmaceutical standards, Orient Pharma not only imported brand name drug manufacturing equipment and state-of-the-art instruments for material and drug product analysis, the company also has a highly professional team with complete SOP’s and extensive technical and regulations training programs. The company also hires several foreign consultants (including consultants from the U.S., Europe, and Japan) for providing professional advice and guidance.
